Grade 8 English

This 12-month Grade 8 English course provides a clear, progressive route through English listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary for academic and everyday communication. It is aligned to Sri Lanka Local Syllabus O/L at Grade 8 and uses original explanations, worked examples, guided enquiry and regular consolidation to turn syllabus knowledge into confident performance. Skills gained: comprehension, fluent speaking, purposeful listening, accurate grammar, coherent writing, vocabulary choice, editing and presentation. Target students: Students progressing through Grade 8 who want a dependable weekly learning structure, purposeful practice and measured progress toward school and external assessments. Assessment approach: Reading and listening checks, speaking tasks, grammar and vocabulary practice, process writing and cumulative language papers track balanced development. Teaching methodology: Meaningful texts and situations introduce language before focused noticing, guided practice, collaborative communication, modelled writing and independent production.
