Grade 9 Science

This 12-month Grade 9 Science course provides a clear, progressive route through living systems, matter, energy, forces, the Earth, space and the practices of scientific enquiry. It is aligned to Sri Lanka Local Syllabus O/L at Grade 9 and uses original explanations, worked examples, guided enquiry and regular consolidation to turn syllabus knowledge into confident performance. Skills gained: observation, measurement, experimental planning, safe practical work, evidence evaluation, data presentation and scientific explanation. Target students: Students progressing through Grade 9 who want a dependable weekly learning structure, purposeful practice and measured progress toward school and external assessments. Assessment approach: Knowledge checks are balanced with practical observations, data-response questions, investigation reports and cumulative tests that reward explanation as well as recall. Teaching methodology: Lessons use phenomena, demonstrations and simple investigations before formalising concepts through diagrams, models, discussion and exam-style application.
